Stephen Scott, Principal at Casuarina School beginning 2010.

A time of endings is also a time for new beginnings and as we draw to the end of Term 4 and the point at which we say farewell to Mark Todorovic we are also preparing to welcome Stephen Scott as our new Principal, starting in January next year (2010).  Mark has done so much for the school in the last year, putting in place budgets, strategies and policies to help the Board and staff ensure our financial well-being, and it’s been an exciting year with news that we won Federal funding for new classrooms.  Steve will be building on Mark’s successes and we look forward to welcoming him into our community.

Steve, his wife Denise and two children, Matilda (13) and Callum (16), are moving to Coffs Harbour from Queensland.  They already know this area from holidays here and are keen to put down roots.  Steve has been a Principal in independent schools for several years and brings with him a wealth of experience in leadership and team building as well as the financial and management skills we need in this position.  He loves teaching and Primary schools, and he is qualified to teach both Drama and Japanese.  Denise is a High School maths teacher and is looking forward to finding herself a position locally as well.

Steve and his family are hoping that they will be able to come to our end of term celebrations at Boambee Resort on December 17th, but if this isn’t possible because of travel arrangements they are looking forward to meeting us all at the beginning of Term 1 next year.
